Hello folks!

The job board is coming people 🤩! Check the news section for more info.

We also got a cool video about the good old "centering stuff with CSS" topic, this time with more modern approaches. Likewise, we have a great primer on what variable fonts are and how to use them.

I'm also excited to announce that I made my first Tailwind CSS plugin 😊. Check out the resource section for more info, I know it's pretty niche but I hope you find it useful!

## 📚 Learning

### [3 Simple Ways To Center an Element Using CSS](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54XxWwwFZtw&ref=tailwindweekly.com)

Yet another great video from CSS weekly goes straight to the point! You'll learn how to center elements using absolute, flexbox and css grid and also learn a bit about the place-content property.

### [<article> vs. <section>: How To Choose The Right One](https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2022/07/article-section-elements-accessibility/?ref=tailwindweekly.com)

This is one was a wild ride! It's a great primer on a very common question you might have asked yourself if you work a lot with markup. It talks about the theory for each tag, the original vision behind them, how assistive technology interprets it, and some practical examples of when to use each.

### [The joy of Variable Fonts: getting started on the Frontend](https://evilmartians.com/chronicles/the-joy-of-variable-fonts-getting-started-on-the-frontend?ref=tailwindweekly.com)

Variable fonts are quite the hot topic these days. I keep hearing all the good things about them but never really knew how to use them... until I found this article. It shows the old and new ways of using variable fonts, the correct format to use *right now,* and how to set good fallbacks. Overall a primer intro article to the topic.

Here's another personal site for you, this one takes a more minimal approach which I quite liked. Simple typography (Inter FTW!) and layout, bright colors and the dark mode is just beautiful.

## 🎁 Resource

### [tailwindcss-hyphens](https://github.com/vivgui/tailwindcss-hyphens?ref=tailwindweekly.com)

This plugin was made by me! I had a client project that required [hyphens](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/hyphens?ref=tailwindweekly.ongloat.com) for the headers and I realized Tailwind CSS doesn't offer those classes. Not wanting to write custom CSS I decided to write my first plugin and it was pretty easy 😄.
