Tailwind Weekly #182: a Tailwind UI redesign and upcoming Adam stream ✨
Hello folks!
First shameless plug of the year 🤣 ! I had my first-ever podcast interview on the Republica Web Spanish podcast; we chatted about Tailwind CSS, this newsletter, and tech in general. If you know Spanish, then I hope you give it a listen!
Let's dive in!
🌟 News
After the successful launch of the v4 stable, the Tailwind Labs team took a breather for their yearly team retreat, then jumped right back into it and released 2 patches just this week. Love the energy!
On the Tailwind UI side, Steve mentioned on Twitter that they’ll be redesigning the entire site, and so far, the sneak peeks look lovely 😍 .

Adam also mentioned he’ll be doing some live streaming soon a couple of days ago, so stay tuned for that! He usually does it from his personal Youtube account, so I recommend you subscribe if you want to be notified.

Writer RAG tool: build production-ready RAG apps in minutes
RAG in just a few lines of code? We’ve launched a predefined RAG tool on our developer platform, making it easy to bring your data into a Knowledge Graph and interact with it with AI. With a single API call, writer LLMs will intelligently call the RAG tool to chat with your data.
Integrated into Writer’s full-stack platform, it eliminates the need for complex vendor RAG setups, making it quick to build scalable, highly accurate AI workflows just by passing a graph ID of your data as a parameter to your RAG tool.
📚 Learning
If you’re still on the fence about Tailwind v4 and need a quick intro or you want to sell v4 to your boss and/or team then this video is for you! It goes through most of the new stuff with examples and does it in a very engaging way.
You know how sometimes you get those pesky empty divs when you're pulling content dynamically from an API? Well, instead of jumping straight into JavaScript to fix it, you can just use :empty
to hide those elements with no content. It's super straightforward and keeps your code cleaner and less error-prone.
This article is a deep dive into some of the latest developments in HTML, revealing hidden gems that you might not have kept up with. It touches on the evolving capabilities of the <details>
and <summary>
elements, including how they can now mimic accordion behavior with some accessibility concerns. There's also the new CSS ::details-content
pseudo-element for styling, and the introduction of styleable <select>
elements, which opens up design possibilities without disrupting existing CSS. Additionally, it highlights the inert
attribute for disabling interactivity, the hidden="until-found"
for maintaining search functionality, and the potential of multi-page view transitions to improved navigation.
