Tailwind Weekly #69: learn to create beautiful shadows with this week's article!

Hello folks!

It's been a quiet week on the TailwindCSS front, but Adam gave us a sneak peek of something they're working on. It sounds like it'll be a prettier plugin to sort tailwind classes.

What I loved about it is that it seems it will sort the classes by media queries, think something like text-base md:text-lg lg:text-2xl, which is something I have been wanting forever. Can't wait for the release!

Now, onto our usual menu πŸ˜‰.

πŸ“š Learning

Designing Beautiful Shadows in CSS

A few issues ago I shared a free tool for building beautiful shadows with CSS, then a few days ago I realized forgot to share the accompanying blog post πŸ˜…. Better late than never!

Overall, this is a great primer on how to understand the theory behind beautiful CSS shadows and how you can build your own. If you want to level up your CSS game, then this is a great start.

πŸ’… Showcase

Himalayas

It's not every day that you find a job board that is both functional and beautiful, I think this week's showcase is both and more. Its beautiful typography, great use of white space, and beautiful accent colors really make it stand out from the crowd. I love how they truly embraced the purple color, it's everywhere but it's also never too much.

My friend Florentin recently released a very useful TailwindCSS plugin for folks using Radix UI. It basically helps you style the different states of the UI components. Check out the demo for a more practical example.
