π Learning
A Practical Guide to Aspect Ratio in CSS
Now that we have official support for the native implementation of the aspect-ratio
property (instead of needing the plugin) I found this video to be a great refresher and learned a few tricks too. Definitely a great watch if you work with aspect ratio and would like to learn more about it.
The Surprising Truth About Pixels and Accessibility
I have heard the debate about pixels vs rems a lot for the last few years but I like Josh's angle on his article. His main argument is that "it depends" but he also explains why and how to develop your intuition to know what to use in every situation. Overall a great read. Β
π Showcase
Liftoff Creator Course
This week's showcase, for some reason, reminded me of Guardians of the Galaxy, it's so flashy! Beautiful colors, even more beautiful gradients, and the whole space theme and real-life pictures really make it shine. The subtle hover animations are a very nice touch.
π Resource
Basicons
This set of icons has a very minimalistic vibe but I love it! It includes social icons and you can also customize the stroke, and size and can copy the SVG code directly, no need to download files if you don't want to. Heroicons is my favorite but these really serve as a great alternative.
π Promoted links
Note: Some of these links are affiliate links, which means I get compensated in some way if you buy through them but I promise I only recommend products I really like!
Polypane is a great tool for testing your projectβs responsive design and accessibility. The best thing about it is that it helps me catch visual bugs in seconds rather than hours. Definitely worth the money for the time I have saved.
I highly recommend LambdaTest as your cross-browser testing tool, with it you can test on IE11, Safari, and most mobile browsers, it also has a very easy-to-use interface, itβs very fast, and they have a lot of automated testing features too. You can use the coupon code TAILWIND15
for 15% off the annual plan.
