Tailwind Weekly #28: Special come back issue!

Hello folks!

After a 2 months hiatus Tailwind Weekly is back šŸŽ‰. Starting next week, every Saturday Iā€™ll grace your inbox with the glory of our ecosystem updates and Iā€™ll also be experimenting with new stuff (like adding new sections) in the future. You know, to spice things up.

But this issue is a special one. You see, right when I put Tailwind Weekly on pause, the Tailwind team started moving at the speed of light and launching new stuff on a cadence never seen before! This email is more or less a summary of those updates since the last issue.

Introducing Tailwind Play ā€“ Tailwind CSS

Remember tailwind.run? Well, the tailwind team decided to make their own improved version. I highly recommend you watch their promo video, its šŸ¤Æ.

Hereā€™s the direct link to the playground, have fun!

Headless UI ā€“ Unstyled, fully accessible UI components

Remember back in May when Adam demoed a new ā€œrenderlessā€ component made with Vue? Well, that idea is now a small but growing library called Headless UI.

As of now they have React and Vue versions but Alpineā€™s is coming soon and they also made new components like Dropdowns and Toggles.

Tailwind got a new youtube channel

The Tailwind team decided to up their youtube game and itā€™s definitely paying off, Simon (employee #2) is doing an excellent job and Iā€™m really liking the content so far.

Introducing Heroicons.com

Heroicons, the icons pack made by Tailwindā€™s Designer Steve, is now an official icons companion for TailwindCSS and has its own website.

So far itā€™s 226 icons and growing. Definitely a project to keep an eye on in the future.
